Economic Development Agencies – EDA’s
The Eastern Part of the State of North Carolina, through the Commerce department or through local funding has a great group of regional Economic Development Agencies which promote, recruit and educate potential companies why locating in their specific county or region. As the map below will show you we have three distinct Economic Development Regions, North Eastern North Carolina, Eastern North Carolina and South Eastern North Carolina. Each Region contains unique Metros Such as the Ports of Wilmington and Morehead City, Medical Centers and Training facilities such as the ECU medical Campus in Greenville. Our Historic State Capital in New Bern, Military Communities of Jacksonville, Fayetteville and Elizabeth City with many smaller towns whose economy is more agricultural based. Many of the agencies use the coastal lifestyle or the quality of life. The access to major transportation routes or ports. North Carolina is a diverse state with a full four seasons and as the Baby Boomers Retire over the next two decades we are going to be growing.
